National Insurance number
You will need to apply for a National Insurance (NI) number. An NI number is a personal number used to record a person’s NI contributions and credited contributions (you cannot work legally in the UK without one). It is important for you to obtain a NI number as soon as possible and it is your responsibility to do so. Please visit www.dwp.gov.uk/lifeevent/benefits/ni_number.asp
